Mike Seeger has devoted his life to singing, playing, and documenting southern traditional mountain music. He has produced nearly 70 recordings and has been nominated for six Grammy awards. Now he his passing on his playing style to you. In this lesson series Mike Seeger presents a survey of playing styles from the nineteenth and twentieth century South , teaching each of them to help you develop a full range of repertoire and traditional techniques. This volume focuses on a family of styles generally considered African in orgin and known by many names as clawhammer, frailing, and rapping. Also included are several up-picking styles that sound like clawhammer. This video includes a booklet with tabs, banjo discography, how to choose a banjo and set it up, plus more!
